Media Med Bud Light

My first thought for this media meditation was to do the Bud Light commercial with the house made out of beer. Then I stumbled upon this set of un-aired commercials and had to blog about these.

All of these videos stimulated the limbic part of the brain. They all start with a guy and a girl (or a combination of both). Then they bring in the beer after we have seen the guy and the girl. Then they all take off from there.

Technological Shift

Thanks to Youtube I am able to see these un-aired commercials that other wise would have never been seen. The shift from analog to digital allows me to access these commercials all over the world.

Emotional Transfer

These commercials make me laugh. All of them are very funny and they all stimulate the humor part of the brain. Most beer commercial are made just like this but Bud Light is in a league of their own with their ideas.

Humor

The biggest thing that all of these commercials had going for them was the fact that they are very funny. They use humor to hide the reality of beer and alcohol, it can be harmful if you drink too much.

Plain Folks
They used plain folks to try and appeal to the everyday man. Showing average men gives the sense that it is for average men.

Beautiful People

They use beautiful women in their commercials to appeal to the men. To try and show that if you drink Bud Light you will get pretty girls like them.
